FEM SIMULATION.

FEM stands for “Finite Element Method”, a recognised method for predicting the physical properties of a construction by drawing on a number of variables. In concrete terms, an FEM simulation uses calculations to make statements about how the physical properties of a part change (e.g. wall thickness, strength, statics) as a result of machining. A wide variety of materials, composite materials, geometries and component sizes – we are able to inspect almost any component for defects and have an extensive range of test methods at our disposal. In order to examine the expediency of a processing step under certain general conditions, various solution approaches are analysed as part of a feasibility study. We run an FEM simulation to analyse stress levels or attributes of a component and verify the results using scaled prototype tests.
